Updated the Look of the Site
01/30/10 05:43 PM
I was kinda getting bored with that old dark colored site and I felt the need for change. So this is what I have come up with. I know some of our older patrons might have some trouble with change, so I tried not to move things around to much.
I moved the navigation menu over to the right hands side and on the one big picture page the navigation is at the top center of the page right under the title of the event. Other than that it should work like before.
I hope you like it. Let me know what you think. If you have any problems or if something doesn't look right please let me know so I can fix it.
Thanks, and enjoy!!

New Pictures with New Lens
01/28/10 07:21 PM
Ok, so I we went to Mady's basketball game and I had the camera with my new lens. I though, man this is going to be so easy to take good pictures with this fancy new lens. Well,....it wasn't as easy as I thought.
First you have to remember that I am trying to take fast action shots indoors with not so great lighting and without a flash...you now....like the professionals do it! You will see that in most of the pictures, I have the focus set to wide and the crowd is in focus and the person I am trying to take a picture of is not. Well enough excuses!! Let's get to looking at the pictures. Click here to go straight to the photos. Any tips from the professional photographers out there would be appreciated.
Mady is number 44 and her friend Madison, that lives in our neighborhood, is number 42.
She has another game this coming Monday. I at least have another chance to learn more about action photography. Talk to you next week.

A Few Updates

Well we are almost done with January! It's hard to believe. Time seems to pass faster as I get older or maybe I just have more going on? Anyway......I posted 8 pictures of Abby at one of her school events. It's call Biz Town.
The kids get to run a make believe city as if they were the grownups! There are stores, a bank, city hall and a snack shop. Each store has a CEO, CFO and employees. There is a mayor and police officers who give tickets if you walk on the green grass. Everyone learns about checking accounts and CEO's learn about invoicing and receivables. Abby was CEO of the book store and had such a "stressful" day that when she got home she asked for a bubble bath in the Spa tub and we even lit the candles!
I also got a new lenses for our camera. It should allow me to get better action shots of the basketball games. Thank you Santa Claus for your help in funding this new lenses. I will post the pictures of Mady's basketball game on the 25th later this week. I hope to get some good stop-action type shots and not have the blurry look.
This is what the new lenses looks like: Not sure what the picture on the right is all about?

Christmas and New Year
01/07/10 08:04 PM
Well, Christmas and New Year have come and gone already and we are into Two Thousand Ten or is it Twenty Ten? I'm kinda leaning toward Twenty Ten myself. Seems to flow a bit better. Anyway, thought I would post up some pictures of the events over the last several weeks.
It certainly has been a full few weeks for us. I won't go into great detail but I think we stretched our Christmas over about 3 weeks. We drove to Gran and Grandads, then Molly and I drove home, then we drove back to Nonny and Poppy's to meet Gran and Grandad to pick up the girls, who stayed an extra couple of days. Then we drove back home and had Santa at our house on December 31st. Hold on.....not done yet....we had friends over for dinner on New Years Eve, yes the same day we got back home, and didn't get to bed until about 1:00 a.m.
Man what a ride!!!
Over all we had a great time visiting family and friends.
I hope you enjoy the pictures of our Christmas adventure.
P.S. I wanted to put in a request for your thoughts and prayers for a good friend of our family, that we visited in the hospital while we were visiting Gran and Grandad. He is battling cancer and was having a few issues. After talking with him, I felt he was definitely winning!!
